I grew up curious — always wanting to understand why things work the way they do. Data Science gave me a framework to turn that curiosity into something practical: ask better questions, work through uncertainty, and find answers that actually mean something.
At Avalyn Pharma, I spent nearly a year interning in Corporate Development and 3 months in Finance — building CRM systems, cleaning and structuring data, designing KPI dashboards, and developing financial models that were presented directly to the CFO and G&A team. That experience shaped how I think about data work: it's only valuable if it communicates clearly and helps real decision-makers act.
My interest in healthcare analytics is personal. When my uncle was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, I've recently started exploring how data could contribute to earlier detection and better understanding. I’m currently working on an industry research project using SocialBit software under the UNC Charlotte CS department, alongside a machine learning study using clinical voice data to explore early Parkinson’s detection. That kind of work reminds me why data science matters beyond the model metrics.
Outside of data, I’ve been teaching martial arts for over a decade. It’s taught me how to communicate complex ideas, stay composed in difficult situations, and connect with people from different backgrounds — something I carry into every technical project.
I also enjoy learning languages (Italian, French, & Spanish), staying consistent in the gym every day, and conversing with new people as much as I can. I truly value understanding different perspectives and building genuine connections.
